The girls slept in til about 8:45am Christmas morning, we didn't complain! Santa came and I think everyone was happy. Taeya was a little sad she didn't get her i-pad but I think I told her enough times that she wasn't going to get one that she was okay with it. The opening only lasted about 30 minutes then I made some Sour Dough waffles for breakfast (I didn't like them in case anyone cares!).

Ever since Lake Powell in June Taeya has been wanting another "Race Car Barbie." She left it floating in the lake and it sunk. Santa really came through and replaced her Barbie!

All of Taeya's loot besides the used "Game Boy" that Grandpa bought her and the purple dress from Nana. She has renamed the Game Boy "Game Girl."

Anastyn's loot - Papa and Nana got her some cute puppets and a little dog that you can change the clothes, and she got a pink wiggle racer car from Grandpa.

My loot! Apparently I forgot to take a picture of Gordon's. He got a bunch of DVD's, a few RUSH CD's, a pair of Jeans, cologne, Season 7 of "That 70's Show" and some other miscellaneous items I can't think of!

We went to Gordon's dads around 1:30ish, Anastyn seemed pretty good and she even had her appetite back at Lee's house. We had sandwiches, opened presents and just relaxed for a little bit before heading over to my moms. We were at my moms for about 10 minutes before Anastyn threw up again! Gordon took her home and Taeya and I stayed to enjoy Christmas with my family. We stayed at my moms for a few hours - we ate dinner, opened presents, played Catch Phrase and just had a nice visit! It really was a fun evening. Anastyn and Gordon enjoyed some bonding time at home watching movies together.

Taeya and Kierra are "best cousins" and love to be with each other. They had so much fun.

Christmas Eve

Christmas Eve wasn't the evening I had envisioned but it was still a nice evening. Our original plan was to go see the lights at Temple Square, come home, have fondue for dinner, open pj's, watch a Christmas movie, then go to bed. Anastyn ruined those plans by being sick. She threw up in the night between the 23rd and the 24th, she was a little mellow on the 24th but she hadn't thrown up all day she didn't have a fever so we were still toying with the idea of going to temple square. The Whitmers were coming into town around 3ish on Christmas eve so Taeya and I thought we'd go say hello quickly, come home, go to temple square and continue the evening as planned. While we were at my moms Anastyn randomly threw up again! So Taeya and I stayed a little longer at my moms before coming home. We still had fondue for dinner, afterwards we gave the girls a bath and opened our pajamas. Taeya also opened her new "Lego Batman" game. Taeya and Gordon went and played x-box, I put Anastyn to bed, cleaned up the house, and that was pretty much the evening! After we finally got Taeya to bed Santa had a little work to do, then it was off to bed for us too!

Family Party

We had the Kennard Family Christmas Party at our house this year. Everyone was there except Angie. We ate a yummy turkey dinner, opened presents and then some of the big kids stayed and played cards. We had a great time. It's always fun to get together as a family. Elaine always gets the kids fun books - which they love. Wendy also gave us an awesome photograph of the Manti Temple. What a great Christmas!

Sunday Before Christmas

I love taking a little self-portrait family picture the Sunday Before Christmas every year. We are all getting very excited!

As always, this was the best we could do. The girls were tired of pictures! Heather and I made these skirts for our girls back in October so they were excited to finally wear them! Cute little twinners!

Taeya has been working on her Christmas list. I am getting a little worried to send it to Santa because I don't think he is going to be able to get her what she wants! The first list was done at home. The second list she made at school. I will translate on the captions!

"Rudolph the Red Nose Reindeer" (the real one that Santa uses to pull his sleigh), "Polly Pocket House and Princess," "Baby Girl", and "Some More Food For Our Special Clubhouse"

I had never really heard her mention any of the things on the above list (other than Rudolph the Red Nose Reindeer) any other times before or after - so it didn't count really count, right!?

Santa at the Ward Party

A few days after our first visit with Santa we had our Ward Christmas Party. We had a yummy breakfast then a little program that included the primary kids singing. After the program santa and some helpers (the members in the bishopric) visited with the kids. Anastyn wouldn't even go near Santa this time around! Taeya was happy to tell Santa that she wants and i-pad for Christmas. We keep telling her that Santa won't bring an i-pad to a 5 year old but whatever reason we give her she keeps coming up with a reason why he can - she will probably be very disappointed Christmas morning!

Santa Visit at Ultradent

One of the awesome perks for Gordon working at Ultradent is the yearly Mr. and Mrs. Claus visit. It is always at the beginning of December when the kids are really starting to get excited about Christmas. They provide all sorts of crafts, treats, games and movies to entertain us while we wait for our turn. Taeya was so excited to talk with Santa, Anastyn on the other had wasn't so sure..... The quality of these photos aren't so great, but we still have a nice printed copy. Anastyn made us laugh, she has her little fists clenched together in fear, trying to be brave! She definitely wanted to sit on my lap for the "family" photo. I'm sure next year will be totally different!

Gingerbread House

To get the holiday season started we made a Gingerbread house for family home evening. Gordon helped Taeya get started while I put Anastyn to sleep (she can help next year!). Gordon is so good at this kind of stuff - he and Taeya had it well underway before I joined the fun. Taeya had a blast and definitely took ownership of this house. She wouldn't even let me be in the picture with her! This will hopefully be the beginning of a great tradition.

We had a great Thanksgiving this year. I woke up before the girls and went for a nice long run (so I wouldn't feel guilty for all I was going to eat!). After my run I got myself and the girls ready then prepared my creamed peas and cauliflower. Since Chantel and her family were coming for the holiday we decided to join forces with the Huntsman family for our feast this year. My church was the only one available so we planned to meet there around 12:30 and set things up. We got things sent up and at the last minute Cynthia and I ran to Walmart to grab another pie - just in case! When we returned we ate a delicious feast! We planned a few activities for the kids and just hung out at the church til about 3:45 so we could head over to Lee's house for round 2! We didn't eat as much on this round but it was still delicious and the company was great. We made it home around 6:30 and enjoyed a nice night at home!

A Short Visit

The Milligans came to visit family for Thanksgiving and we made them come stay with us for the night. Lawni needed her hair done so she came Tuesday night, we did it late that night while the kids slept. Wednesday morning we had waffles for breakfast, Mary made us yummy soup that we ate for lunch (GiGi joined us for that), and just hung out for the day. The kids had a blast and we had a hard time peeling Brielle away from all the girls! Man we miss you guys!!

Thanksgiving Feast Kindergarten Style

Taeya had a little Thanksgiving Feast at her school. I was able to go and help. I love helping with the school parties. The kids were so cute. We had deli turkey, carrots and celery with dip, rolls, and pumpkin cookies. I was surprised on how much these little Kindergarteners ate! They were on their best behavior and had really great manners. I loved the pilgrim attire too!

Snuggle Time

As Anastyn has gotten older her and Taeya have definitely developed a "sisterly love" relationship. They are often found playing together, laughing and having fun together - I love it! Taeya tries so hard to love on her as much as possible. She always wants to greet her first in the morning, she always wants to love on her when she gets hurt, she wants to hold her hand in the car.....the list goes on and on. Now Anastyn doesn't always let Taeya give her "loves" but when she does it melts my heart! I love these 2 girls!

Girls Trip to St. George

We had a much anticipated and much needed girls trip! Alyson, Mary, and I met Heather in Beaver and headed to St. George Thursday night. Alyson's parents have a house they let us crash in! We woke up Friday morning and drove to Vegas to meet Lawni for some shopping! We had a great time and spent the whole day at the outlets.

Me, Mary, Alyson, Lawni and Heather - It was getting pretty chilly outside, Heather decided she needed a hoodie to warm up - in the store we thought we all should get one! ( I think secretly Heather wanted to kill us for taking so long deciding which one to buy!!)

We worked up an appetite with all that shopping so we headed to Olive Garden for dinner. After our delicious dinner we drove back to St. George. It was late when we got back but that didn't keep us from sleeping - we talked and talked!!

Saturday morning Mary made us delicious waffles for breakfast. We slowly got ready for the day. Heather lost her debit card somewhere along our journey so getting to the bank on time finally got us out of the house. After the bank we spent 3 HOURS at TJ Maxx Home Goods - we had so much fun!! We ate dinner at Brick Oven after our shopping. We stopped at the grocery store for a movie and ice cream before heading back to the house for the night.

It's much better when someone else does your hair,right??

It was such a cold weekend in Vegas and St. George, we were all a little chilled. We figured the hot tub would warm us up nicely!

Sunday morning we cleaned up and went home. It was sad to have the weekend come to an end. It was so much fun. I love these girls so much - maybe someday Heather and Lawni will move back. Until then, we'll just have to keep up the yearly Girls Trip!

Halloween

Halloween is such a fun time of the year, there are so many fun things to do. This year I feel like Halloween kind of snuck up on us. We didn't go to Cornbelly's this year, I didn't have a little party for Taeya and her friends and we didn't go see the Witches at Gardner Village. Hopefully next year I can be a little more organized! We still had a great day. I am so glad that Ultradent did their trick or treating on Friday this year. It made the day a little less crazy!

Anastyn and I sent Taeya off to school then we quickly got ready and went over to the school to see the parade. We borrowed a monkey costume from Kelly that Anastyn absolutely loved - she wouldn't take it off when she first put it on. We added a tutu we already had and she was the cutest little monkey I know! Taeya had 2 costumes, a Cheetah and Super Girl. She decided to be a Cheetah for school and Super Girl that night. After the parade I ran home to grab my cupcake decorating supplies and went back to the school to help with the Kindergarten Halloween party. It was fun to be with all those excited kids! The afternoon was a little calmer. We planned to go see my mom and dad but they ended up coming to us instead. We had some soup for dinner than headed out for some trick or treating. The weather was so fantastic! This was the longest time we have ever spent trick or treating. I made cupcakes for my Beehives so we trick or treated around the neighborhood delivering cupcakes. Taeya was ready to go home (probably so she could eat her candy) but Anastyn and I were still going and going! We decided to go home and have a little break then Gordon took them out again to do one street we missed! So of course we had a TON of candy. We all had a great night!

Carving Pumpkins

We followed tradition again and carved pumpkins with the Mehlhoffs, minus Ariel:( We ate yummy chili and cornbread and then got to work carving awesome pumpkins. As always, Austin just observed our project, but at least he didn't dry heave on the smell this year!!

Frightmares

As soon as I got home from running the Halloween Half, I quickly showered and we headed off to Frightmares! I told Gordon I was okay not going this year, but because of tradition, he just couldn't let us skip out. We ended up having a really great time. It wasn't busy at all and the weather was great, a little chilly as soon as the sun went down but so much better than years past!

First thing we did - Gordon took Taeya on the white roller coaster, and I took Anastyn on the "horses!" Taeya got a little tricked into going on the roller coaster, she usually doesn't like rides that give her "butterflies" but Gordon didn't tell her it would until they were already on the ride! She didn't seem to be too mad about it but she didn't want to go again!

Next we notices that Pioneer Village was open - it usually isn't during the end of Frightmares. We were so excited. We've been wanting to update the picture we took when Taeya was about 2 (same as Anastyn now). It was fun, I think Taeya really enjoyed dressing up. I felt a little immodest, although the boa really covered me up....maybe a little too much.

After the pioneer village photo we were finally able to just follow the girls around and let them go on whatever rides they wanted to. They had such a great time on all the rides, they are at such fun ages. We even took Anastyn on "Puff." I wish I wouldn't been able to capture the look on her face when we went down the little drop, it was priceless. She was a little nervous about it!!

Taeya was a good sport to go on the boat ride with Anastyn. Anastyn loved ringing the bell.

The highlight of the day for Taeya was getting her face painted of course! She does look pretty cute as a kitty!

Gordon and Taeya had a fun time on the bumper cars - so exciting that Taeya is tall enough for all these great rides!

The hackenslash people scared Anastyn to death earlier in the evening so we had to prove to her that they were actually nice - she finally believed us....kindof!

Because it wasn't a super crowded day we were able to go on all the rides we wanted to which was great because we got kicked out at 10:00pm, thankfully we were ready to go! Hopefully next year will be just as great!

Halloween Half

After I ran the half marathon in June I didn't really have an incentive to run. I was still running, but not nearly as much as I had been. I needed some motivation so I signed up for the "Halloween Half." I had heard it was a lot of fun, it wasn't too expensive and the timing was great since it gave me reason to run in the fall. Those long Saturday runs leading up to the marathon were a little tricky to get in due to fun events, but I made it happen!

I had a few neighbors/friends running so we all drove together early Saturday morning. We had to park at the university mall and we were bused up to Aspen Grove. The run ended at Riverwoods so it was super annoying! It was freezing cold and the line was incredibly long to get on the bus. I brought along some warm clothes and the time went by quickly waiting for the run to start. It was so crowded during the first 5 miles of the run that I lost my friends dodging people in the beginning!! That was okay because I always run by myself anyway.

Overall it was a good run. I was slightly disappointed with my time which was 1:48:52 (1 minute slower than my first half). My average was 8:19 per mile, and I was 83rd in the women 30-34 category. I can't beat myself up over it. It was a totally different course, I had been running a ton more previously, and I still had a great time. (At least to me!)

The first marathon I was dying at mile 11 and it pretty much continued til the end. This one I got tired, but it wasn't quite as bad. Maybe cause there were more people cheering you on at the end?? I still don't know if I ever want to do a full marathon, the thought of doubling the miles is a little overwhelming at this point in my life, but who knows?!

Family Pictures 2011

We had family pictures taken at the end of October. I searched and search for the right outfits for the girls to wear and in the end, and with the help of my awesome friend Becca, I made the girls outfits. Gordon's work did their annual trick or treating then we headed to daybreak for the photo session. Anastyn fell asleep on the way so she was a little crazy, but the weather was perfect and in the end I love how they turned out, and the price was awesome! Sorry for the picture overload. Many Faces

I got a new phone. I think it might have been a bad decision because my girls are obsessed with it. Anastyn loves, loves, loves Dora and Taeya is happy watching netflix or playing games. Between my 2 girls I don't ever get to use my phone anymore. I know, I probably just shouldn't let them play with it, but it is sure great for running errands!!

Taeya had school pictures at her school. I know some people hate to get the school pictures taken but to me it's a great way to document the year. Since I hadn't had Anastyn's 2 year pictures taken yet I decided to have her pictures taken also.

Fall Break in Blanding

At the last minute the girls and I decided to go to Blanding to visit Heather and her family during Fall Break. We left Wednesday right after Taeya was done with school and came home Sunday afternoon. It was so nice to get away from home and just relax. The kids had a great time of course. Heather and I made cute Christmas skirts for the girls, I blogged and blogged, and worked on my 2008 Blog Book. Jeremy made us such yummy food that we never had to leave home!

Cohen and Anastyn played so well together. They were good at sharing and seemed to enjoy each others company!

On Friday afternoon the kids were in need of a little project - for young womens we took these mason jars and with masking tape made a pumpkin face then painted the jars orange - pretty simple (an idea I found in the Family Fun magazine). The girls had fun making a "pumpkin" - pretty sure Cohen didn't care much but he was a good sport to try!

Saturday morning I went for a 10 miles run (this training really gets in the way of my weekend plans!). After my run Jeremy took Taeya and Heathers kids on a long 4 wheeler ride. Heather and I probably should've been adventurous but she had a young women lesson to prepare and I had more computer work to do so we stayed behind. Anastyn had the whole house to herself and seemed great with that and Taeya really enjoyed the ride!

Farewell

My nephew C.J. got him mission call to the Peru, Chiclayo mission. We are so excited for him. He will be such an awesome missionary and we are so happy he is setting such a great example for the other cousins in the family. The girls and I were able to drive to Idaho for the farewell with Kimberly since she was in town for the week. We left Friday afternoon and stopped at Uncle Howards on the way. Saturday morning we were able to go do a temple session with C.J. We went to breakfast afterwards. The afternoon was spent taking care of kids, and helping Chantel prepare food for the next day (I even snuck in a 10 mile run). Gordon drove up with Garrick and Kelly Sunday morning and we were all so excited to see him! We drove back home Sunday evening. What a fun weekend!

2nd Year Checkup

I took Anastyn to her 2 year checkup and everything seems great. At her 1 year checkup the doctor said she has a heart murmur but it's a "good" kind, whatever that means, and she should grow out of it. Otherwise she is developmentally ahead of schedule! I sure love this girls, she is so much fun, snot nose and all!

Here are her stats:
33 1/2 inches tall (50%)
25.4 lbs (25%)
50 cm head circ. (97%) :)

Pool girl has a large head but I still love her anyway!! Here are some things about her:

-Some of her nicknames are Banana, Ana, Ana Banana, Sweetie, and Princess
-She is a happy girl, she loves to laugh and has the cutest giggle ever
-Her favorite book is "Wheels on the Bus" and "Raindrop Plop"
-She loves to sing and is pretty good at singing "Rock a Bye Baby" and "I Am a Child of God"
-She loves babies, she'll take them in her arms and do this cute little bounce rock
-Her favorite movies are any of the "Baby Einstein"
-She is sad if Taeya has left for school when she wakes up
-She still takes a 2ish hour nap (although she has been fighting me on this lately)
-She loves, loves, loves her Binki (we will be getting rid of it soon!)
-She can use many 2-word sentences and several 3
-She loves shoes
-She is getting to be a pickier eater
-She doesn't drink very much milk
-She loves to jump on the tramp
-She insists on wearing diapers with "Mickey Mouse House" on them
-She has peed in the toilet several times (we should potty train soon too!)
-She loves going to Papa and Nana's house
-She loves swim lessons and gets sad when it's not a lesson day
-She has to pick out her swim suit or she gets angry
-She loves to draw, paint and play with play dough
-She knows all her animal sounds
-She is learning to count and can usually count to 5
-She loves nursery now (yeah!)
-She sleeps in a big girl bed (against my wishes)

She is at such a fun age, it's so fun to see her learn new things each day! I love her so much and I am so grateful I get to be her mom. Life wouldn't be the same without her.

I went back and forth on a theme for Anastyn's birthday party. There wasn't anything in particular that Anastyn has been into. She is fascinated with bugs so I thought about having a bug party but in the end I went with Minnie Mouse. She has been really liking Minnie and Mickey, I think mostly because Alayna does, but it was a fun, easy theme so it worked. I have been so busy lately that I just wanted to keep it a little low-key. So we just had our families come for dinner at the park. We ordered a 4 foot sandwich from Walmart and ate it with chips, fruit and lemonaide. I made a cake, we opened presents, ate, and played at the park. Thank goodness the weather was still nice. I think it turned out just right! Anastyn loved it and that's all that mattered. Here is a ton of pictures to prove it:

Here's the birthday girl all ready for the party. We borrowed this outfit from Alayna. I made it for her for her 2nd birthday and thought it would be fun if Anastyn wore the same one. This is Anastyn's "Cheeeeeese" face!

I helped Alyson make a Mickey Mouse cake for Alayna so this one ended up being pretty easy - Alyson helped me to return the favor. We added eyelashes and a bow for Minnie.

Cassidy, Taeya, Jayne, Anastyn, and Presley - The kids loved the cake. If you look close you can see where Anastyn couldn't resist a little nibble before the celebration!

Anastyn was so cute as we were singing to her - she just lit up. She was smiling so big. I loved it. All day she kept saying "happy birthday to me!"

Presley, Frank and Cassidy - we were so glad they came to the party. These girls are so much fun!

A new big girl bed was Anastyn's "big" present from us. She started crawling out of her crib shortly before her birthday. We tried putting her and Taeya in the same room on Taeya's trundle bed but that was unsuccessful - they just wanted to play around. With the size of the girls rooms daybeds just work the best - I found this one on KSL for $100. Now I just need to make her some bedding - maybe for Christmas!

2nd Birthday!

For Anastyn's 2nd Birthday I took her to McDonald's for lunch with Mindi, and Alyson and that night we went to the State Fair. We picked up Gordon from work on our way and grabbed a pizza to eat for dinner. It was a perfect night and we had a lot of fun. All Taeya wanted was to get her face painted and Anastyn was just excited to see all the animals. We let her pick out a toy and of course she chose a cell phone that broke the next day! Taeya chose to go on the Ferris Wheel with Gordon so Anastyn and I went on the carousel instead. The girls went together on this car ride that whipped them around the corner and they laughed and laughed. It was a fun night and Anastyn was so excited that it was her birthday.

Lake Powell in September

Ryan and Kristy weren't able to come to Lake Powell with us when we went with my whole family in June because Gage was just born the day before we left so they were anxious to get a trip in before it got cold and we were lucky enough to get invited! Since Gage is only 2 months old Ryan and Kristy wanted to keep the group size small. They invited us and their neighbors the Holyoaks. Truthfully I think we got invited because Gordon is so helpful with everything, but whatever the reason we were all excited to go.

We left our house Wednesday right after Taeya got out of school and we launched the boat just before the ramp closed at about 8:00pm. We stayed in the slip that night since the Holyoaks wouldn't be coming until Thursday morning. Wednesday night we walked to the pizza restaurant at the marina and then put food and luggage away then went to bed.

Thursday morning we got up, got everything ready and as soon as the Holyoaks arrived we pulled out of the slip and headed to Gunsight. We found an awesome spot to park the boat and the kids immediately got in the water and collected seashells. It worked out perfectly as far as kids and their ages, everyone had a friend even Anastyn! That afternoon the kids all tried knee boarding and we even took them out on the water to do some tubing. They all did great!

Friday morning we did some more tubing and relaxing but by Friday afternoon the weather turned to lighting, thunder and rain. It was a beautiful rainstorm but it really cooled things down and put a damper on our swimming. Taeya and Gordon went for a nice hike and I got to read alot of my book.

Saturday we took a drive to Rainbow Bridge. It was a great time of year to go because the weather is so much cooler. It was a nice drive - much shorter than I thought it would be. We stopped at the Dangling Rope Marina and got some ice cream on our way back to the houseboat. That afternoon the kids all waterskiied and played some more in the sand.

Sunday we had breakfast, packed up and went home. What a great trip - I just love Lake Powell. The food is always delicious, the company is always fun, and the water was so nice and warm, what more can you ask for??

I sat on the back of the waverunner so I could get some pictures - Taeya did awesome. Gordon likes to bribe Taeya to ski so at the marina earlier in the day Taeya picked out a necklace she could earn by skiing. In the past she would just get up for a few seconds, but we told her she had to stay up for a long time. She made 3 big loops, she did awesome, and she had a smile on her face the whole time she was doing it.

Once again, this bucket was one of Anastyn's favorite playing spot!

Baby Blessing

Labor day weekend was spent in St. George with my family. Baby Gage had his blessing day so we all met up for the weekend and had a great time together. Friday afternoon the girls and I drove with my mom and dad to St. George. We went to dinner with Ryan and Kristy, Garrick and Kelly and my mom and dad. We hung out at Ryan and Kristy's that night. Gordon met the girls and I at our friends house (Kip and Amy) late Friday night. Chantel, Kimberly, Garrick and Kelly all stayed at the same hotel so most of Saturday was spent at the pool. A few of us girls spent an hour or so at the outlets and we all went to dinner at The Pizza Factory, then headed over to Ryan and Kristy's. We helped Kristy cut up fruit for the luncheon and the kids just played and played! Sunday morning was the baby blessing and a yummy lunch at the park afterwards. Ryan did a great job on the blessing and Kristy did an awesome job on the food! We stayed at the park for quite a while. Then headed back to Kip and Amy's to eat dinner with them. We drove home late Sunday night. Taeya was so sad to leave her "best cousins." She has so much fun when she gets together with the kids - especially Kierra. Those 2 have a great time together. It was an enjoyable weekend - I love spending time with my family.

1st Day of Kindergarten

The day before we left for California we went to Taeya's school and met Mrs. Reiber, Taeya's Kindergarten teacher. We were so excited to get her as a teacher. She did a little assessment of Taeya. She asked her all the sounds of the letters in the alphabet, which sight words she knew, her name, my name, address, phone number, and I had some paperwork to fill out. Mrs. Reiber also showed Taeya around the classroom and showed her where to hang up her backback. Taeya is so excited for Kingergarten to start.

The first day of school finally arrived! I had to wake Taeya up at 8am, and she popped right up! School starts at 9:15am and gets out at 12:08pm. Anastyn and I drove Taeya to school and walked her into the classroom. She was so excited. We got to see her table and she picked out a book and started reading. I figured there was no sense in staying and longer, so we gave her a hug and a kiss and left. I kept wondering if it's bad that I wasn't sad to send her to school or if it's bad that I didn't cry. I can't believe that Taeya is already 5 years old, and I am not ready for the schedule of school everyday, but it's so fun to see her grow and learn and I know school is an important part of her life. It's kind of sad that she is not under my influence 95% of the day now but hopefully I'll continue to teach her well and she will grow up a confident, happy, healthy girl!

California

WARNING: This post has a ton of pictures - maybe the most I've ever included in one post and that's saying alot since all of my posts have a ton of pictures. I just didn't know how to eliminate! They were all so cute.

I had been looking all summer long for cheap flights to California. I wanted to go before Anastyn turned 2 and before school started for Taeya, I just wasn't finding the price I wanted so I had kind of given up on the idea of visiting the Milligan's. But one night I thought I should just look one more time....and lucky me I found them for $69 each way. I called Lawni immediately and she answered (which usually doesn't happen) and the week was clear for her so I booked it! The only bad thing was that since it was a little less than 2 weeks in advance we wouldn't be able to stay a full week like I had planned. Taeya was so excited when I told her the next morning.

WEDNESDAY: Our flight left early, early Wednesday morning and we flew into Long Beach where Lawni picked us up and took us straight to her house. The girls immediately started playing and I took a little tour of their condo and then we made breakfast. After breakfast we went swimming at the pool in their neighborhood. It was so great and the kids had a blast. We ate lunch after and put the little ones down for a nap. Anastyn slept forever (probably since we woke up at 5 am and she didn't go back to sleep!) so we played outside while she slept. When she finally woke up Lawni wanted to show me around town and we went to Cafe Rio for dinner. I was so tired that night from not sleeping much the night before so we went to bed early this first night.

There is a little playground right by the entrance to the pool so on our way out we had to stop and swing - there were no baby swings so they had to share.

Right by Scott and Lawni's house is a large driveway that is shared by about 10 condos. It's the perfect place for riding the Jeep - the girls had a great time riding around.

THURSDAY: We decided to go to the beach on Thursday. So we woke up and let the kids play while we got ready to go. We spent the rest of the day at Newport Beach - the kids absolutely loved it! Anastyn was a little hesitant to go in the water after she felt it the first time but she still loved playing in the sand. I was even able to get her to take a nap! On the way home from the beach we took a dip in Lawni's neighborhood pool to try and rinse some of the sand off. Then we made tacos for dinner, bathed the kids and got them to sleep then watched a movie. Lawni introduced me to the most delicious ice cream ever - Denali Mint! We ate alot of that while we watched.

We took the kids shirts off while they ate breakfast and we never put them back one. They look pretty cute as little striped twinners though!

There was a little breeze that kept the temperature just right, so I didn't worry about her being too hot! She slept for a good 1 1/2 just right there in the sand. It was nice.

We buried the girls in the sand then had a hard time getting a picture without our shadow being in the picture - Lawni got creative!

FRIDAY: Once again we had a lazy morning with a yummy breakfast. Then we cleaned up, got ready for the day and went to the "Irvine Spectrum" which is just a huge outdoor mall. It has a ferris wheel, merry go round and 2 splash pads. We stopped at Old Navy and found the girls some shoes, got some lunch, went on the Merry Go Round and Ferris Wheel then spent the rest of our time at the splash pad. After the mall we spent way too much time trying on clearance swim suits in Target (it got a little crazy with 4 hungry kids to put it nicely!) then headed home for dinner, yummy mac and cheese. After dinner we got the kids to bed then watched another movie and ate more ice cream! (That is one thing I love about hanging out with Lawni - the day always includes ice cream!)

On the Ferris Wheel - At old navy I bought the girls matching penguins (the one Brielle is holding). Brielle accidentally dropped it off of the top of the ferris wheel about half way into the ride. The rest of the ride was spent worrying about the penguin! Thank goodness one of the employees found it for us after we did some serious searching.

SATURDAY: We had the same routine in the morning, we tried to hurry a little faster this morning cause we were going to Newport Beach again and wanted to get a good parking spot! We got ready and went to the beach. Scott had the girls in his car and Lawni and I had Bryce and Anastyn in her car we spent alot of time looking for a spot. Scott found one before us so we took all the gear and kids to the beach and he took Lawnis car and parked it for her - about 2 miles away!! What a good guy he is. We had another fantastic day! Saturday was definitely busier than Thursday but I guess that just allowed for more people watching! The kids had a great time of course and it was fun to have Scott there with us too. After the beach we went to the pool again, came home fed the kids dinner, bathed them, put them to bed, cleaned up, watched a movie and ate ice cream! The usual routine:)

So cute - we got the girls matching swimsuits at Target the day before and they looked so cute in them. We also did matching hair everyday. It was so fun.

This time we buried all 4 kids. Anastyn didn't want her arms in and I'm not sure Bryce loved it!

While Anastyn and Bryce were sleeping the girls and I made a sand castle - we even found a little crab to live in the castle. I think the best thing for Brielle was when she got to smash it before we left!

I was amazed at how brave these girls were in the waves - they got out there pretty far, they loved it though.

SUNDAY: Scott and Lawni have church at 1:00, so we had a nice, unrushed morning! Then we went to sacrament meeting. Afterwards the girls stayed with Lawni and Scott and I took the little ones home for naps. While they were napping I made chicken nachos for dinner. Sadly they weren't as good as Heathers - they were kindof soggy. (Sorry Scott) After dinner we were kind of naughty and we went swimming one last time! Lawni had bought an underwater camera we forgot to use, we just had to go try it out! After swimming we had baths, got the kids ready for bed then colored Lawni's hair. I'm pretty sure we ate some ice cream too!

I did a side braid with the girls hair for Sunday and they looked so cute.

MONDAY: We were sad that today was the day we had to go home.....We gave Bryce a haircut and the kids hung out, I packed up, and we headed to the airport. It was such a great trip and I wish we could have stayed longer. I guess all good things have to come to and end. Lawni took us to the airport and we headed off. The girls were really good on the flight and we were excited to see Gordon. Thanks Scott and Lawni for letting us come take over your house and for feeding us and driving us around and being our friends! We love you guys!

A Camping We Will Go

We have been wanting to go camping all summer long and we finally made it thanks to the Bailey's. They wanted to go camping also so they headed up to Bald Mountain Friday morning and found us a great campsite. We met up with them that night just in time for dinner! Sleeping in a tent is always fun for the kids but a little sleepless for the adults. I was worried that Anastyn was cold all night long, then she woke up around 4 am and I put her in the sleeping bag with me and she had a hard time going back to sleep. Oh well. We had a yummy pancake breakfast and just relaxed the rest of the day. We spent some time hanging out by Butterfly Lake - it was so beautiful and the girls loved the giant lily pads. Anastyn found the mud and got completely covered! The boys went on a good hike (the girls didn't want to go so Alyson and I stayed behind while the girls played barbies in the tent). We even got ambitious and made dutch oven salmon for dinner. We always planned to leave Saturday night because I had to teach young woman's Sunday morning but it was looking like it might rain so the Bailey's ended up leaving with us also. It was a lot of work for one night but it's just something you have to do at least once a year!

Wedding Day

We have been anxiously awaiting Ariel's wedding for several months now and the day finally arrived! It was so beautiful and I was so grateful that we got to be there for the special day. Thursday night they had a delicious dinner at a country club in Salt Lake and the wedding took place at the Salt Lake Temple on Friday afternoon. The ceremony was very neat and Ariel looked so beautiful. Ariel is so special to us all and we are so happy she has found someone who will take care of her and treat her like a queen. She deserves it!

Ariel and Evan are such a great couple - and they look great together too!

Ariel asked me to be one of her bridesmaids. Unfortunately I didn't know everyone else was going to be wearing flats. I felt like a giant!

I had to put another picture of Evan and Ariel in cause they just look so great.

Since both parents weren't able to go to the sealing ceremony they had a great ring ceremony. It was so fun to be a part of this ceremony and Taeya loved watching Ariel get "married."

My girls absolutely love Ariel (and Evan too!). She has been a part of their lives since birth.:) Ironically the same is true for my relationship with Ariel. I got to babysit her when she was teeny tiny!

The reception was beautiful and they had the most delicious crepes ever!! It had an old fashion feeling with music from Frank Sinatra and Elvis playing! They even had croquet and badmitton games. It was alot of fun.

We lit sparklers as they left for their honeymoon. Evan is going to school in North Carolina so I they went straight from their honeymoon to North Carolina. I miss her already. What a beautiful day, I love weddings!

Girls Camp

I had a really fun time at girls camp this year. I was able to stay most of the week thanks to Alyson and Elaine. We went to Heber Valley this year, and our theme was "It's My Turn On Earth." This was the first time I had ever been there and I was really impressed. It was nice and clean and had warm showers! The weather was a little on the cooler side which was actually a good thing because we had to wear long pants all week. We left our houses Monday morning. Monday we had alot of downtime. I don't think I've sat around that long in my life! We played a fun little get-to-know-you activity and ate yummy food thanks to our camp cooks. Tuesday we had lake time so we made the mile long hike/walk to the lake and back. Wednesday was the ropes course day which was really fun. We climbed up a telephone pole, walked along a wire about 30 feet long and zip lined down the other side. It was a little scary at times but definitely fun. Wednesday night we did skits. The leaders did a silly lip sync to one of the songs from "It's My Turn On Earth." Thursday we went on a nice long hike. We ended up doing the hike in reverse so it was a little more challenging than we had originally planned but it was so beautiful and everyone felt like they had accomplished something hard when we were finished. We made some really cute bracelets after lunch then I headed home to go to Ariel's wedding dinner. I really love girls camp. It's fun to get away for the week and see these awesome girls in a different setting! It was a great, spiritual week. I kindof hated to leave on Thursday afternoon - I felt like I was missing out on the finale by missing testimony meeting, oh well, Ariels wedding is important too!

5th Birthday Party

We took a long time to figure out what kind of party we would have for Taeya's 5th birthday. Truthfully I wanted to skip the party this year, but Taeya and Gordon just wouldn't let me do it. We thought of having a Hello Kitty party, or a Pony Party, but in the end we decided on a "Mermaid Party." That way we could incorporate the water slide. There were a million ideas online and a million more things I wanted to do for her party, but I think it turned out good. The party wouldn't have come together without Heathers help, and Gigi came and helped too which was awesome! Thank you, Thank you.

This was the little table decoration/set up. I probably didn't need to make the cake but what's a birthday party without a cake??

The first game we played we called "kill the shark" (so the shark wouldn't get the mermaids). We had blown up a bunch of balloons that Gordon had drawn sharks on, they had to pop the balloon in a pool of water. I think the kids had fun, but it seriously lasted all of about 5 minutes tops!

Next we played "pin the crown on the mermaid." This was fun but there were so many kids so by the end I think some of them were getting a little bored!

After the game we had a little treat - blue jello with whipped cream and a swedish fish. (This was totally unnecessary but it looked cute)!

To drink we had Mermaid Punch (aka blue gatorade).

Bela and Taeya - Bela had a Pony Party/Water Party earlier in the day, so these 2 girls had a fun day. Aren't they beautiful?

After a little treat we sent the kids on a scavenger hunt around the neighborhood. Gordon and came up with some little riddles. There was a clue at the Bailey's, the Cooks, the Milligans, the park, they mailbox and then it ended in our basement when they finally saved the mermaid from the pirates - it was a mermaid pinata. We then broke open the mermaid pinata filled with candy and prizes. The pinata was a tough one and it seemed to go on and on and I was so nervous that someone was going to be hit by the bat. Thankfully there were no casualties.

It was finally present time. This was alot of fun and Taeya got some fun things. A mermaid barbie, a "fur real" dog, some hamburger making play dough, some cute little piggies, lots of candy and some fingernail polish, and a cute ariel nightgown.

Lastly, it was time for cake and ice cream

After cake and ice cream we turned on the water slide and the kids played in the water til their parents came to get them. I think it was a fun party and everyone seemed to enjoy themselves. I was glad it was over.:)

5th Birthday for T

Taeya's 5th birthday was a busy day - of course! She got spoiled - as always! Gordon had the day off of work (in observance of Pioneer day), so we packed the day in with things she wanted to do.

I went for a run early in the morning then headed to the grocery store before Taeya woke up to get her some balloons and Fruity Pebbles for breakfast. I tried to give her breakfast in bed but she wanted to sit at the table in her room instead cause she was afraid the tray would tip and spill. (This has happened before and I got a little upset with her when I had to clean up cereal off of my bed.)

After breakfast we got on our swim attire and headed to 7-Peaks to go on some slides. Sadly I didn't get any pictures but we rented a tube and she and Gordon got to go on some of the big slides together while Anastyn and I played in the little pools. We all had a fun time. We grabbed some Little Caesars Pizza and headed to the mall.

I got the brilliant idea to let her go to Build A Bear and choose a bear. She had a great time picking everything out. Anastyn enjoyed watching.

After the mall we headed home to give Anastyn a late nap. She played at the Bailey's for a while (cause of course she had to show them her new bear). I finished making her cake and preparing dinner. She wanted fondue! We invited Gordon's dad over. He came for dinner but wasn't feeling so well, so he left after only a few minutes, so the Bailey's came and had fondue and cake with us instead.

Taeya was pretty excited it was her special day - if you couldn't tell by the big smile.

Taeya got an Alarm Clock, a new Mermaid Barbie, and her build a bear. I had a few other things for her but she didn't seem to really care so I think I'll save them for a certain holiday in December.:) It turned out to be a really fun day. We all enjoyed a holiday together.

On July 28th She had her 5 year check up - she was actually pretty excited to have her appointment. She was a little puzzled why she needed to pee in a cup, but she had no stage fright thank goodness. After they pricked her finger for the iron test I had a hard time convincing her that she needed to get another shot, but in the end she didn't complain too much and she loved the Hello Kitty treat bag she got for being so good! Anastyn was happy to get a sucker afterwards.

She is so excited to start Kindergarten.

Shes not a big movie watcher but when she wants to she still loves care bears, strawberry shortcake, barbie, and sometimes a princess movie.

She loves to snuggle and be loved on.

She has decided she doesn't like cheese, and believe me, she notices it!???

New Baby

We took a quick trip to St. George over the 24th of July to see the newest addition to the Andrews Family - sweet Baby Gage. The girls were in heaven holding this cute little man. He is so adorable, we just ate him up. We got to St. George late Friday night. On Saturday Kristy and I did a little errand running, and some shopping, and some swimming while Ryan and Gordon put up a bead-board type finish in Gage's room. They did an awesome job and it looked great (I should've taken a picture!). On Sunday we went to Sacrament meeting, had a delicious dinner, and had a birthday cake for Taeya. She was so happy. We left late Sunday night so we could be home for Taeya's birthday. What a fun weekend, thanks Ryan, Kristy, Daylen, and Gage for letting us spend the weekend with you!

We invited the Bailey's to join us at the cabin for the weekend and as always, we had a great time. The girls played together so well and enjoyed the bug kit Alyson bought at the dollar store. We ate lots of yummy food, Gordon went on a really long bike ride, I went on a long run, we watched a few good movies, I was able to work on the quilt, and Seth and Gordon took the girls on a 7 miles hike! Sadly after this trip the cabin was sold. So I guess this is it for the cabin, we are in mourning.:(

Heritage Park

I think I say this daily, but I don't know what I would do without Alyson. She is always so willing to help me out and sometimes I wonder if I abuse her kindness, why do I always need so much help with my girls, when I hardly ever get to return the favor? She really is so awesome, I love her so much and so do my girls - she is definitely their 2nd mom. Not only does she watch my girls while I work often, she takes them to the park while she's doing it!

She took them to Heritage Park while I was at work and they seemed to really enjoy themselves. They played in the water, and at the park. Thanks Alyson - what would I do without you??

Grandma's 90th Birthday

My sweet Grandma turned 90 years old! She is an awesome woman with a lot of spunk. She is living in an assisted living center in Roosevelt, but she is slowly loosing her memory and talks about "going home" everyday. She was happy to celebrate with us and she looked beautiful for the occasion. It had been a long time since the Fenn family has gotten together so it was fun to see family we hadn't seen in a very long time.

As decorations for the party there were 90 balloons decorating the tables. We let them go at the end of the party to represent each year of her life!

4th of July

The 4th of July was a little different this year. Since we were driving home from Lake Powell on July 2nd we weren't able to go to the Stadium of Fire which is our usual 4th tradition. Instead we woke up and Gordon went for a bike ride then I went for a run. Then we ran a few errands and got stuff done around the house. Our next door neighbors, the Cooks, had a little party that we went to that night. We had hotdogs, lots of yummy salads and treats, and a great fire work show. We tried to watch a movie outside but the weather wasn't permitting! It turned out to be a nice day.

Muddy Girls

What is it about mud that is so attractive? I don't think there is anything good about it. It is just messy, hard to get out of clothes and shoes and annoying, but Kids love it! For whatever reason we had a ton of water in the dirt between mine and Alyson's house and Anastyn and Alayna seemed to find it! We eventually took their clothes off and let them have a blast! It was a messy cleanup, but the fun the girls had made it worth it!

Lake Powell

Right after I finished running the half marathon we hopped in the car and headed to Lake Powell (boy was I sore when we got there). The Huntsman family invited us and we had a great time. We were sad that several family members weren't able to come this year.:( Thanks to Kelly for her awesome job on the food and to the Huntsmans for providing the houseboat. We had a nice, relaxing week!

Cael, Anastyn, and Jayne - Jayne had this great little DVD set-up in the "hideout" as Taeya calls it. The little kids loved it down there.

The Hobie cat was a fun addition to Lake Powell this year. The bad thing was that no-one really knew how to sail. It was quite entertaining to watch all these "men" try and figure it out. We got a lot of great laughs when the Women decided to join them out on the Lake. Lets just say I was really glad we weren't in the ocean and I could still see the houseboat!

Cameron also learned to waterski - first try - I love Gordon's excitement in the background! Cameron wanted to go and go - I was afraid we were going to loose Gordon!

Taeya loves the lake just like her dad and is usually the 2nd one in the water - 2nd to Gordon of course!

Gordon really wanted Anastyn to wakeboard with him - she didn't really like it. To try and help the situation I let her go with her binki, it didn't really help.

Still crying.....she needed lots of snuggling from mom when she was done. Maybe she'll like it better next year?

One thing that I got to try this year was surfing. Every year we've gone to the lake with the Huntsmans I've been pregnant. So this year I didn't pass up the opportunity.

It was harder than I thought it would be, but after a few tries I kind of figured it out - at least I figured out how to get up!

I thought I'd try and let go....

Me, Kimberly, C.J., Chantel, and Collin - Every year we go to Lake Powell my dad always says he wants to go to Hole in the Rock - well this year he finally got his wish. We weren't really planning to go all the way to the top, but we did, and it was kindof tough. I don't know how those pioneers did it. I definitely have a deaper appreciation for all the hardships they had to endure. There was a nice couple at the top who took our picture than emailed it to us!

My girls spend a lot of time with the Bailey's. Alyson is always great to help me out when I work, but even when I'm not working they prefer to be with them. Here are some random pictures Alyson took. These girls are so fun!

Af Canyon Half Marathon

I started going to the gym regularly last October. Before then I would work out at home, or I would go for a job on this great trail we have by our house, but I started getting a little more into weights and running. I would run 3-4 miles and was feeling pretty good. A friend at the gym started asking me what I was training for. I wasn't training for anything but it got me thinking. I've never actually wanted to run a marathon, but I started to think that maybe I did. So I signed up for the AF Canyon Half Marathon. The course was mostly downhill and since it's practically my backyard I figured I could train pretty easily. It ended up being a lot of fun. My plan was to do it in 2 hours. I figured I could run pretty fast down the canyon and then I could slow down and still make it under 2 hours. I went pretty fast down the canyon like I planned but I didn't really slow down much after. I got pretty tired around mile 10, but surprisingly the last few miles went by fast. My final time was 1 hour 47 minutes, which I was really proud of.

Lawni and her kids met me at the finish line, Gordon tried to meet me down the hill from our house but I was too speedy! I saw him running down the hill about 50 yards from me, but I wasn't about to stop to wait for him!

Alyson had planned to meet me at the finish line but it was too early in the morning so she met me in the driveway instead!

When I was finished I grabbed a quick drink, visited with Lawni for a few minutes and then headed home to shower and head to Lake Powell!! I don't think I want to do a full marathon anytime soon, but maybe someday.......

Lawni's Visit

We were so excited for Lawni, Brielle, and Bryce to come visit. I talked Lawni into staying at our house and I'm so glad she did because it was so fun much fun. We were so busy while she was here, it ended up being non-stop fun!

I got to read to Bryce and Anastyn each night.

So a few things that we did that weren't documented through pictures: We went to strawberry days (earlier post), Lawni and I went to the gym, Lawni deep cleaned her house, we ran a lot of errands together, went shopping in Salt Lake, went swimming at the Lindon Pool, and ate lots of ice cream. (I'm sure there were some other things we did but that is all I can think of right now!) We left for Lake Powell and Lawni ended up staying at our house with her sick kids. While I was gone she organized many cupboards, bought me groceries, cleaned my house and even cleaned out my fridge! She is the best. We love you guys and miss you so much. Thanks for staying with us, come back soon!

Strawberry Days

We had a great time at Strawberry Days this year. Lawni and Heather were in town so we thought we would make a day out of it. We opted for the wrist band for the kids and I think we made a good decision. The kids loved all the rides and the weather wasn't blazing hot, and who can resist the yummy strawberries and cream? We had to drag the kids out at the end of the day but us moms were sure ready to go! Here are a ton of pictures from the day:

After all the thrills from the plane and the slide and the roller coaster, the train was a little boring, at least for the big kids!

This was another ride that the girls went on over and over and over.......They were all afraid of it when we first got to the fair but then when little Coco had a blast they all had to try it. The first time was a little frightening but after a potty break they went on it over and over again - at least until I told them we had to go! (I was done!)

Fathers Day 2011

I tried to make Father's Day a nice day because I kindof dropped the ball a little bit and didn't really get a very nice gift. But, Gordon did get breakfast in bed - after he slept in! I am so grateful that I have such an awesome husband and father. The girls adore him and he is such a great dad.

We were also able to visit my dad and Gordon's dad - we are blessed with great dads. I was happy I got to celebrate the day with them!

Thanksgiving Point

After Kimberly did a week of recording, she stuck around for another week of fun. One of the fun things we did was go to Thanksgiving Point to the petting zoo. The kids had a great time. Anastyn would just giggle when the animals would eat the corn out of her hand. It was a nice, quiet day at the farm! The girls also loved the donkey rides - but I didn't get any pictures of it. :(

The Zoo

Heather was here for the week so we decided we better head to the zoo! Between the 5 of us adults we had 19 kids - Alyson, Mary, Heather (plus 2), Becca, and Me (plus 2)! It was a little crazy but it turned out fun.

Anastyn loves getting in the bath and she squeals when we turn on the jets! If we add bubbles while the jets are on it makes for an extra bubbly fun time! You could get lost in all the bubbles. But, Anastyn loves it!

Gymnastics Girl

Taeya took gymnastics at the AF Rec Center this past year and she was anxious to have a performance to show off her skills. Her performance was May 21, 2011, it only lasted about 15 minutes so it was awesome, thank goodness since Anastyn wanted to jump on the equipment herself!

The coaches had each gymnastics go around the gym one at a time on each event and do a little skill. Taeya is a performer and she loved every second of it. She really enjoyed her first year of gymnastics.

Wedding Day

Austin found an awesome, beautiful, fun girl named Breanna and we were lucky enough to be apart of their wedding. I love weddings, they are such happy occasions! Thursday night was a rehearsal dinner at Magelby's in Springville. Friday the wedding and reception were held up Provo Canyon. The rain cleared up just in time, and we had a great day! Everything was awesome.

Preschool Graduation

Taeya had preschool graduation on May 18, 2011. She really did enjoy school this year and she learned alot. For the graduation program they sang alot of cute songs. The one I was most impressed with was "The Star Spangled Banner." Taeya knew every word. She sang all the songs so well, especially in the beginning. Towards the end she was getting a little distracted. She was also chosen from her class so give a speaking part. Her part was "Every vowel makes a long and short sound." I thought each of the kids would have a little part but during graduation I realized there was only 2 from each class. She really doesn't mind being in the spotlight! I can't believe she will go to kindergarten next year! She is already so excited.

While I was doing Taeya's hair before graduation she said to me "mom, have we ever had china food?" I told her that we have had it before and tried to explain to her what it was. After graduation we decided to go get Chinese food for dinner. We went to "Fong," and to "Sub-Zero" for ice cream afterwards. What a fun evening.

Mothers Day

Mother's day week-end was very enjoyable. Gordon did a 100 mile "Ghost Town" ride in Tooele so Friday night we drove out and went to dinner with Gord's mom and then swam in the pool at the hotel. Saturday morning Gord got up early to start the ride. The girls and I ate breakfast at the hotel and then went swimming again. Elaine met us at the hotel and took the girls to her primary activity while I went for a run. After my run we went and got some lunch and went back to the hotel for more swimming. The hotel let us have a late checkout so Anastyn had a little nap while Taeya swam with Presley (Elaine supervised). Gord got done with his ride around 3:30 (the girls were still swimming), he seemed great! He even got in the pool and swam around with the girls. After he showered and we finally checked out we went to dinner at Appleby's, then headed home. Taeya actually fell asleep on the drive home, so I know she was tired from all that swimming! (She never falls asleep in the car, unless it's really, really late).

Sunday morning we got ready for church and the minute we sat down in the chapel Anastyn threw up! So, Gordon took her home and I stayed at church. Taeya did a great job singing to me, it's so much fun seeing her up there singing! Since we spent friday and saturday with Elaine and my mom was in Idaho it was just a "me" day! Gordon made me some yummy pesto pasta for dinner and I made creme brulee for dessert. I got a new sewing machine in April so I counted that as my mothers day gift. Gordon surprised me with a new running watch. Since Anastyn was sick we really just hung out all day, it was nice and relaxing.

Most of the time I love being a mom. I wish there were a few more hours in the day so I could be the mom that I really want to be. Either that or I wish I had a maid! I really do love my girls and I wouldn't trade this time in my life for anything!

Easter Weekend

Easter is always a great time of year. This year I had to teach the Easter lesson in Young Women's. It was so great to be able to study the events happening up to the crucifixion and the resurrection of the Savior. It made this year extra special.

This year was especially busy, but extra fun! Saturday morning I worked from 8-12. While I was at work gordon took the girls to the city easter egg hunt and to McDonald's afterward. There were so many people at the city hunt so the girls only got a couple of eggs each - they didn't complain though. We went to my moms house at 4:00 that afternoon for a bbq and egg hunt.

We gave Anastyn and Jayne a head start - Anastyn was a little slower than the rest of the bunch!

Jayne didn't waste any time filling up her basket - with a little help from her dad!

Taeya ended up with $4 and lots of yummy candy.

My mom and dad gave each of us "big kids" an egg $5 and some candy in it. Gordon and Matt hid all our eggs in the walnut tree and made us girls climb up to get them. Kelly cheated and had Zach get hers while Matt wasn't looking. She got a good laugh at Mariel and I in the tree.

Easter morning was exciting as well - the easter bunny came! He hid the girls baskets, Anastyn's was behind a pillow on the floor and Taeya's was in the movie cabinent.

The easter bunny was so nice to the girls. They each got a chocolate covered bunny, a swimsuit, bubbles, playdough and a toy. Anastyn's toy was new blocks and Taeya got 2 lala loopsie girls, Taeya also got a princess book.

After Easter baskets we made resurrection rolls for breakfast then got ready for church.

I wish I would have taken more time to get a better shot of these two together but we were in a hurry before church and Anastyn was onery after church.

After church Anastyn had a nap and we got the house and the food ready for Gordon's family to come over for another Easter celebration. Once again, the girls were spoiled! They got tons of candy - more than they did for Halloween!

We had more candy than eggs so we threw candy all over in the grass - Anastyn had more fun picking that up then the eggs.

Taeya - Our yard really isn't the best for an easter egg hunt, but we made do!

I think Taeya ended up with about $13 from this hunt, and Grandpa Lee gave each of the grandkids $20 and a king size candy bar as an Easter gift.

Egg Decorating

Last year was the first year I had ever decorated easter eggs - at least that I can remember. I thought I would have my sisters join in the fun this year. I think we should make it a yearly tradition girls. We decorated sugar cookies afterwards, they were delicious!

One of my favorite stores for the girls is Naartjie. I usually love everything in the store - their clothing is so girly, and comfy, and cute that I just can't resist. I used to not feel guilty buying an outfit for Taeya everytime I went to the store, but now that I have to buy 2 I can't always justify it!

In January I saw a sign in their store for a "Casting Call," so I submitted my girls pictures and Anastyn was chosen as one of the models for the summer 2 collection. As compensation we were given $50, several copies of the ad, and a disk with a few images from the photo shoot. Anastyn was such a good little girl. She cooperated nicely even though we had to wait an hour before the shoot even started due to some technical difficulties with the camera. I didn't love the outfits she was given to wear and I definitely would have chosen a larger size (if you look online she is actually in the "newborn" section), but it was still a fun thing for me!

Liberty Land During Spring Break

We spent half our spring break in Blanding and the other half home. On Friday (the last day of spring break) we made plans to go to Liberty Land with Mariel and her kids. We were worried that it would be really busy so we planned to meet in the morning when they first opened. We had a great time. It wasn't too crowded and the kids loved it.

As I was rushing to get out the door Taeya said, "mom take a picture, Anastyn's on top of me." So, of course I had to stop and take a picture!

Skyler and Zach - I can't even tell you how many times we rode the Merry Go Round, it was probably close to 20!

Anastyn was probably the reason why we rode it so many times - she loves the "neighs."

All of Mariel's kids are so sweet with Anastyn - Zach was nice to take her on the airplane ride. I thought she really liked it, but then she wouldn't go on it again, it must have scared her a little.

Zach and Taeya were the only ones who wanted to go on the climbing wall. Zach climbed up to the top with no problem at all. Taeya on the other hand, got a little scared half-way up and I had to climb up there myself to get her to let go of the handles so she could get down! Silly girl.

Mariel was a good sport to wait in the longest line of all to take her boys on the go-carts. We went miniature golfing during the wait.

Love this picture - it was a really bright day (just wish it was a touch warmer) and the kids had a hard time keeping their eyes open for the picture (Anastyn wouldn't even be in the picture).

It was a successful day at Liberty Land. We all had fun. Afterwards we went to Maggie Moo's for some yummy ice cream! Hopefully we will go again real soon.
